Complicated

Love is complicated at best
  and simple at worst

I could tell you I love you
but it wouldn't be true
for it would be an inatiquate statement

For I love not just you
but all that you are

I love your sense of humor
I love your ideas and Dreams
I love your spirit that calls to me
I love all that you are

To say "I love you"
would be a lie
for the love I feel for you
cannot be described by those words alone

I am connected to you
not just mentally
but emotionally as well

I feel for you a comradship
I have never felt for anyone before
I feel for you a kinship
that love alone cannot describe

Oh how to tell you all I feel
so that you may understand
the words "I love you" mean so little
compared to all I feel

It's like calling the sky "high above the ground"
or the ocean "big and deep"
or saying "there are a lot of stars in the sky"
These phrases are so unrevealing
in the full scope of things
They say so little about the true size or number
So too does my saying "I love you"

"I care for you more than words can say"
is a more accurate phrase
Yet even that cannot tell it all
Oh why does it have to be so hard

Do you understand what I'm trying to say
How much you mean to me
How I feel for you like none before
How you mean everything to me

Please understand what I'm trying to say
That I love you just as you are
I love not just what you are
I also love who you are
Please understand
I don't love you
I love you
