Poetry has always seemed to be my way of putting my feelings into words. My poems do not always rhyme; in fact, I tend to make sure they don't. English alone has so many variations of accent, no two words are guaranteed to rhyme for two different people. Nor are syllabals guaranteed to be thought of the same (take "fire" for example; I always thought it should be considered a two-sylable word, though the dictionary says otherwise).
For me, poetry is about expression. To be able to put down words in a way that conveys the emotion I am feeling is my one and only goal when writing.
